Blackstar is pleased to announce the successful completion of its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 1 self-assessment, with results formally filed in the Department of Defense's Supplier Performance Risk System (SPRS). This milestone reflects Blackstar's commitment to protecting Federal Contract Information (FCI) and upholding the rigorous cybersecurity standards required to operate at the highest levels of U.S. government contracting.
Blackstar provides mission-critical operational support to the United States Government and the Department of Defense across some of the most demanding and complex environments on earth. CMMC Level 1 certification affirms that Blackstar has implemented all foundational cybersecurity practices mandated by the DoD, ensuring that sensitive federal information remains protected regardless of where operations take place, whether at diplomatic facilities, remote installations, or forward-operating locations.
With CMMC enforcement now underway across the Defense Industrial Base, Blackstar's proactive compliance positions the company as a verified, contract-ready partner for DoD agencies, prime contractors, and teaming partners.
"At Blackstar, our standard of excellence is not limited to the field. It extends to every dimension of how we operate, including how we safeguard the information our government clients trust us with. Achieving CMMC Level 1 certification is a direct reflection of that commitment. Our clients and partners can be confident that when they engage Blackstar, they are working with an organization that treats cybersecurity with the same seriousness we bring to every mission."
— Kris King, Chief Executive Officer, Blackstar
Blackstar's CMMC Level 1 certification is now on record with the DoD and available for verification by contracting officers and prime contractors through SPRS.
